There assholes in every hiking subculture, and there are kind, considerate people too. I met plenty of really nice traditional backpackers who I joined up with for a while and had a blast, and I seen a lot of ULers who are really kind to traditional backpackers and don look down on them or lecture or show off. They just like being out in nature and are happy to meet people along the way, no matter what size pack they carrying..

But you can use the speed and agility to your advantage, like I use her as a scout too. I carried my backpack until I finally decided to grab a locker last year.
