The first important thing, ensure that the truck you are using is fully capable of towing your caravan. Not all vehicles can be towed in this manner. Follow the safe cheap towing guidelines on these pages whenever you tow a trailer or another vehicle. Connect the electrical plug from the trailer to its port or plug on the tow vehicle. There are also some legal limits on laden weight of unbraked trailers, which you will need to know for your particular vehicle.

If towing would be done at higher speeds, there is a high risk that the car being towed would crash into the towcar if it has to brake quickly. In order to take a car towed from the traffic accident it is necessary to provide a document by the Traffic police offices for site investigations of accidents (Savska Street no. 35), a traffic licence and an ID card.

For the purposes of this section, “tow truck” means any motor vehicle that is constructed and used primarily for towing, lifting, or otherwise moving illegally parked or disabled vehicles. When I went to the section on half-ton trucks I discovered that the highest published tow rating listed for a half-ton F-150 was 10,500 pounds.

First, make sure it is legal in your state to tow a vehicle on public roads. After you have obtained the release form, you can then pickup your vehicle after paying any towing and storage fees. Once the towing company has your vehicle for 120 hours, they consider it and any campers, snowmobiles, jet skis, or other cars attached to or on the towed vehicle abandoned.

Boom: This equipment is not specifically designed for towing trucks alone. DoL can suspend your license if you do not pay for a ticket for an abandoned car, or do not pay what you owe for towing. Prior to picking up your garage access card at the Parking Services Office, please park your vehicle in Lot 72E or Lot 72D.

Check the label to make sure your trailer does not exceed the suggested maximum tongue weight and towing capacity. Note that this is not the actual weight, it's derived by adding the vehicle's maximum weight and the trailer's maximum weight together. Vehicles go through rigorous testing to determine tow ratings.
