Leather is only so good against road rash and not very good for impact protection, and is very expensive if you want padding sewn into it. Go with the jackets you see on guys riding bullet bikes. Matching pants. I need something better. Any suggestions for someone toting a lot of things some of which are quite bulkyyea, that might work well too. I like the bob trailers because they are so narrow that they work well in more congested areas and wont tip over if you take a turn a little fast.

theft proof backpack The frame isn rigid so I say its max weight is probably around 20 lbs. But that a lot to carry for a day hike. It not adjustable and I think the torso range is between bobby backpack 15 and 19 inches and that feels about right. The thing is also bombproof.The bad: if you carry a lot of weight in it, it not comfortable due to the way the weight distribution works. There a reason why hiking backpacks tend to be tall and low profile, rather than shorter and sticking out horizontally.
