Most of the experienced hikers and travelers have their main gear sorted and they could be very picky in their selection so it a bit off risk to get hiking related gift. However there are still plenty items you can get starting from some custom made “I love hiking/traveling” coffee mug from your local print shop to some camping items such as water bottle. I think above mentioned buff and headlamp is a great idea as well.
