They great if you have lots of little things and you an organizational freak, but overall I anti theft travel backpack agree. I have the LA Police Gear Atlas backpack which is near identical to the 5.11 72.The good: over 70 liters of storage, with pockets galore, which is great if you want your stuff organized and dislike typical tube backpacks that require you to put everything in stuff sacks and dump everything out just to find your toothbrush, and the MOLLE is actually useful for lashing things to the outside. I used an external MOLLE pouch as my food/trash bag so I could quickly detach it and toss it up in a tree as a bear bag.
bobby backpack Has load lifters and hip belt if needed. Has good amount of organization built in. My favorite of all. Adjustable straps and a padded back. Functions perfectly and I like that the look is so low key. It's not sporty, it's not cutesy, it's just a simple and well made backpack..bobby backpack

Portage packs load easier, sit in the canoe better and allow you to carry more gear than a hiking pack.If you load a portage pack correctly they are just as comfortable to carry over the distances that you are usually covering on a portage.On my BWCA trips I usually have one XL Duluth style pack for gear and then dry bags for tents and sleeping bags.pacsafe backpack

You curse yourself thousand times for a few excessive kilograms of gear you wouldn really need but you thought it MIGHT be put to use. Unfortunately I didn get to choose my work laptop so I stuck lugging around a 17 inch, 8 pound behemoth every day. This is way too heavy to stuff into a cross body or tote and not kill my back and shoulders, so I looking for a backpack instead. And, since they seldom more than glorified mesh, you don sweat too much either.Most of mine are Salomons packs. Some are more trail runny than others. I do not generally camp in places with a lot of bear activity, so I am not a great example to follow. To say they can be carried away is misleading.
