Last time I was at a pool, it was just before school started and so there were a lot of older kids there being a bit crazy. But it was a pool, and the lifeguards were on top of keeping them from doing anything too bad. There was this older couple there with a 4yo, probably her grandparents, and they gave such dirty looks to all the other kids that dared get anywhere near them.

I traveled extensively in my 20s and these same anti theft backpacks have been marketed to travelers forever. It turns out you don need all those features, you just need to not leave your shit unattended and not carry valuable stuff you don actually need.
