My shelter is my UL backpacking tent, doubles as a rain poncho, and during cold weather I use it regularly as a 'bothy bag'. Full bothy (head inside) for gloves off prep work (eg, lunch/tea) in sub zero F windchill; and 3/4 bothy (head outside) for relaxing/eating/drinking while seated on an insulated pad its basically a full body/limbs windbreaker that is warmer than an equivalent wind shirt/pants due to the mitten effect of the shared airspace. 3/4 bothy paired with above stove candle mode, gets you heated micro climate for survival (I use it for luxury heat) worth an extra 30 40F of comfort..
