The United Church has been a supporter in LGBTQ rights for a number years and had a delegation at the Supreme Court of Canada when a hearing took place for the rights of same sex marriage. The church felt the time had arrived for equality and therefore gays should be allowed to marry. Openly gay church leaders are in a position to radically change policies and once and for all time, speak up, take action and help stop the self righteous ways of doctrines that tear people apart..
