Everyday Peak Design 20L. I absolutely love this pack for every day usage. Sits on the back in a way that no other backpack I ever tried has. I will say that down has a longer lifespan, is more compressible, and lighter than synthetics. It is usually quite a bit more expensive though. I have no idea what night time temps are like in the desert but I can only assume it very warm so you could probably get away with just about anything. 

pacsafe backpack A few things I don like but aren deal breakers: hard back panel, which actually does help with back sweat due to the air channels. It probably a moot point as your laptop in a softer bag would also feel like a board on your back and I admit I gotten used to it over time. Also there are slots for your phone and other small items but some of the pockets aren a very useful size for me, in particular the mesh used for the internal pockets is a bit low quality.pacsafe backpack

Sync Shot IR laser beams should've be implemented in the game to seen it through the use of Night/IR vision goggles. Eastern shore of the lake just east of Black Scratch is also a good spot. Just make sure you far enough east to be out of the acid rain (or have skellies on your turrets). Well away from UC/HN so no taxes/prayers, decent market in Black Scratch, easy food.pacsafe backpack
