It just didn't.Calls were not returned to the sub contractor who in turn had to start making redundancies because its cash flow was being badly hit.The whole situation was exacerbated by the large company's clumsiness in dealing with its supplier.It brought to mind the growing importance of the need for managers to have strong negotiating skills in order to deal with such problems.As we reported in last month's issue, the cofounder of Harvard's program on negotiation, Dr William Ury, is coming to Edinburgh to give a seminar about his area of expertise on June 19.I have recently read both books and found them extremely interesting and useful with plenty of case studies and examples to help the amateur negotiator become a true professional.I am sure plenty of managers would benefit from hearing what Ury has to say perhaps we could borrow him for a while to sort out problems like the one I outlined earlier Understandably many companies are under severe pressure at the moment with a number lacking the skills to cope.The sub contractor I talked to was sympathetic to the plight of his large customer but frustrated by the way it was handling things.Instead of trying to find a solution it had simply put up the [[https://www.cheapjerseysint.com/|Cheap Jerseys free shipping]] shutters.Communication is key to all business and hopefully other companies might take heed of this in the future.If you have problems be frank with your suppliers.
